Rodents in my house!

We have quite the infestation here!

..and the only thing that satisfies these two little rodents is candy.

We don't trick or treat, but they are still little, I always still dress them up, and then we just add it to their dress up clothes. (Plus I got a great deal on these costumes!)

Jaden gets mad that he cant get the wings to fly. Whats a bat to do? Oh wait. Jumping off the furniture seems to do the trick.

What I spent naptime yesterday doing....

I am totally in love with this project. I have been looking to do aprons for a long time now but never really saw any that I felt compelled to try. I could have made up my own, but I never sat down to think about it. Then I saw that pattern and had to go for it! I made two yesterday and plan to make a whole bunch more!

Two pages to share...

...the first one was my page from last week's submission. The theme was to use any shape but a standard one...like circles, squares, etc. I chose Mickey:

I did this one while taking a canning break. My living room still shows the remains from this one. Poor, sad and neglected living room:

Monday's Madness

Thoughts on this Monday morning.

I was disappointed to learn this morning after making it to the next round of SYTYCS, the contest was canceled. Its a bummer because those that played fair have to be punished because some people weren't playing fair.

I canned apple sauce, apple pie filling and apple butter this weekend. I got a lot from the batch! I have 5 apples left that the boys and I are going to caramel. My house smelled so fallish this weekend with all the spices simmering! I made apple pancakes this morning with the apple pie filling on top. It was really good!

Jackson is my little terror right now. This morning he has wreaked havoc all over the house including breaking Micah's glasses, slamming doors, fighting with his brother, and generally just getting into trouble. I love this age (huge amounts of sarcasm here.) I love him...just not the attitude :) And people that know him know that this isnt normal for him.

Jaden is losing his voice and squeaking when he talks. Its pretty cute. ....and pathetic.

I have a couple of boutiques coming up that I am participating in that I need to stock up for. I am hoping they both go pretty well. (Of course I am hoping for that, why would I participate if I didnt? What a silly thing to say.)

Last week the yard work didnt get done, the kitchen chairs werent finished and my closet is still a mess. I am a complete "To Do List Maker" failure. (I don't really think that.)

And here's the question of the day. Tell me if this is just me or not. When the kids fight, it makes me so mad. Why does it make me mad? Does this bother anyone else who has more than one child? Or is it just me here? I remember growing up how mad my parents would get if my siblings and I would fight, so I don't *think* I am alone on this. I used to look at them like "Why do you care if we fight?" Well. Now I know. They are best friends for the most part but they have their moments.

Ok, Micah is home from basketball. Time to "break" the news about his glasses.

Schnepf's Farm

I have now attempted this post three times. Here are a few of the pictures from yesterday's pumpkin patch. It was hot, but I think everyone had fun. My mom took my sister, my sister in law, myself ( :) ) and the boys. We ate chili, rode a train, got a great big pumpkin that is now sitting on our porch and the boys have cute little farmer's tans!

Hug the ones you love

This afternoon, our family lost someone very dear to us after a long hard struggle with cancer. She was an amazing person who had a true heart for Jesus. We know she is singing with her beautiful voice at His feet now. She is no longer in pain. I can hear her sweet laugh now.

There is a song that reminds me of her that has been on my mind all week. If I close my eyes, I can picture and hear her singing it:

I sing because I'm happy. I sing because I'm free. His eye is on the sparrow. And I know He's watching me.

Thank you God for giving us the assurance and peace that through Jesus your son, we have everlasting life when we choose and accept You. Thank you for Sharon and the life and love she had and for her faith in knowing You. I pray for the family as they continue to look to You through this and I know You will give them comfort.

Psalm 34.

How 'bout them apples?

I know I know. My second post in one day about apples. But thats because they offered them here after all! I get my 38 pound box Saturday morning!

Also, it looks like Blogger changed the comments option on my blog. I think its Blogger because I didnt touch anything. Just a new way of leaving a comment. I had questions and I came and left myself one. Just click on comments and you can leave it there :) Hope that helps!

Pumpkins and Apples.

I want some apples. I mean come on. Its October. I WANT APPLES!

I got so excited when I got an email about a 38 pound box of apples through Bountiful Baskets. I was going to can them, candy them, bake them, and make applesauce! I had these grand visions in my head about all these apples I was going to get on Saturday. When I went to check out, I was so dissapointed to see that it was only in the West Valley. Can I stomp my feet here? I WANT APPLES! I am crossing my fingers that they will offer it in the East Valley next week.

Anyway. I will put my big girl pants back on now.

Tomorrow we are going to the pumpkin patch in the morning. Usually we go a lot earlier in October so I have been pretty anxious about getting there. I am hoping for cool weather...ya know, to simulate a Fall day :) I will take plenty of pictures to share. Pumpkin pictures are my favorite!

Our Annual Day Trip to Sedona/Flagstaff

Yesterday we drove up to Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Flagstaff and up to Snow Bowl to see the leaves. I still need to share the Disney pictures on here but here is some of the pictures of our little day trip. Jaden got car sick and we had to pull over for a bit (which was really cold up in Snow Bowl) but once we took him and sat with him at dinner in Flagstaff, his tummy got a chance to settle down.

Tip of the Day....beware of strange men who want to talk about your camera with you when he thinks you are alone.
