Sew simple 1835

Usually I am a "make it up as i go along, sew by the seat of my pants" kinda girl. I do enjoy pdf patterns that people create, but I tend to avoid any store bought patterns like the plague.

The other day, I was cruising Wal Mart (not my favorite place at all.) and I stumbled upon some "sew simple" dollar patterns made by Simplicity. I figured I could at least use the patttern for sizing and a guide, and I picked up 1835:

So I am cutting it out, pinning, and sewing, and I totally don't dig the weird wordings in instructions. I have always had a hard time following directions, so this part is expected from me.  I added a couple of inches to the length of the next size up that she wears and start the dress. I start kind of making it up as I go along. But when I realize that the pattern ends at a weird spot, I just get downright mad. No directions for sleeves and finishing it at all.

I fake it til I make it, and come up with this:

After I finish it, I turn around and see something on the floor....page 2 of the directions. Yeah. So moral of the story, always read through an entire pattern before beginning....and look around to make sure you aren't missing anything.
