I think using dye is fun, but i dont like that you have to use a whole box of it thus wasting so much color or having to do a bunch of stuff the same color.

Vintage Pattern Find

On our way back home!

Long time no blog! We have been enjoying our stay here in the midwest, but as my grandma told me last night, all good things must come to an end. Here are a couple of pictures I took yesterday in a field full of yellow flower---weeds! I was disappointed that I took them at the wrong time of day, lightingwise, so they aren't what I was "envisioning" at all. Plus, we were on the side of a busy road and the kids werent wanting to pose, so they were hurried, but I think otherwise, they were fun.

If you look closely, you can see the oldd corn stalks. Its a corn field normally.

Hi from the middle of nowhere!

We are driving to the St Louis area as I type this. Its going to be a very long drive but will be a really nice visit. We left this morning at 4 am and have 15 hours to drive today (7 so far) and 8 tomorrow. We are lucky enough to be staying at Micah's aunt and uncle's house tonight so it will be a great way to break up the road trip! 

I probably wont be posting much craftiness in the next week or so but I am sure I will have something interesting (to me) to post. 

And for a good laugh... my husband has begun recruiting anyone he can to grow a mustache with him the whole month of pay and has started a mustache may blog  that he will be updating through the month.

 

So if you have any crazy mustache stories or pictures, let us know :)

This recent painting (and the tree I did) will be among all my sewing and necklace goods :) (I am really enjoying painting. I think my favorite way of painting is just painting something in my head rather than from something in real life or from a photograph)

Rainy Day Thoughts

Internet was down, life was happening, and posting didn't!

I was looking at scrapbooks with the boys the other day and sharing our past special moments with them, realizing how cool it is to have some of our stories and moments captured. 

This led to me to realize that out of all of the books we have made, I have't shared nearly as many pages on my blog! I will be sharing some of my favorites here and there. Some older maybe not as "hip" pages, but special pages to us.  

In other news, this past week, I have been busy sewing, creating and getting ready for boutiques and etsy shop updates. I can't wait to share!

And ending thoughts: this weekend, as we focus on the Ressurection of Jesus, I am so thankful for our family that God has blessed me with, our health, the roof over our head, the clothes on our back and the food on our table. He provides us with everything we need, including our salvation if we choose to follow Him.

Sickness, Sewing and Such

I have been busy the last couple of days. I am doing a couple of boutiques at the end of the month and have been racking my brain and going through my stash on what I should do for it. I have gotten a good start on it, and am excited to be offering some fun necklaces as well as an assortment of sewing items. So I will be busy sewing and creating for the next couple of weeks! And the challenge will be using only stuff I already have here!

I also started to do my new wallet but after several failed attempts at a certain spot, I gave it up for now. I was trying to sew through so many layers of courdoroy, and I have been sick the past few days, that I just didn't want to deal with it anymore. So I still want to do the wallet and a matching purse.

Yep, we are sick again here. Can't wait for it to leave the house so we can move on!

New Blog Look!

Thanks to Houseof3! What a cute little blog facelift! I thought it would be more fun to do one already made than to try to tackle making my own. It was so fast and easy to do.

However....I accidentally deleted all of my links on the side bar....I still have every single one of them in my Google Reader though *which is what I use to keep on everyone's fun blogs! So if there was a link here you need, just let me know!

Your mom goes to college.

I got really funny looks wearing this. People either got it (like my sister or the young guy at Best Buy who just kept looking at me and laughing) or they didn't (like the returns guy at walmart and my dad... "but what does it mean?") . This shirt is so cool. Napolean Dynamite is so cool. Micah is so cool for getting me this shirt and loving me despite my sense of humor and knowing that I would think its so cool.

I know I probably get on people's nerves for saying it a lot, but I think its funny and thats what counts, right? :)

Twilight Movie!

Last night I had a great opportunity to seeTwilight! My mom (Happy Birthday!!) and sister and I all went and tagged along with Michelle, Amy and Sandy as well as other enthusiastic fans!

There were even prizes and vinyl I heart Twilight stickers! Sadly, our group didnt win any of the great prizes but I did get a beautiful necklace from Michelle! Check out her blog for more info on how you can get one too! :) Pin It

Monday's Miscellaneous Madness

First off, I heard back from the police and am excited that this house from Saturday will be now watched. Thanks Gilbert PD!

Lets see, this will be a week! Just jotting down my agenda and thoughts for my own sanity.

Today, I have lots of errands to do. I will also finally be sealing our kitchen table...a little nervous about it!

Tomorrow we are driving up to Flagstaff to see the leaves change. With no real Fall in Phoenix, we have done this every year since Micah and I started dating. Its a fun tradition that I love sharing with the boys now!

Wednesday we are doing a lot of much needed yard work. Winterizing the backyard, digging up the garden and starting a new one, and just catching up on things needing to be done outside. Let's hope this hot weather backs off!

Thursday will be a inside catch up day with laundry, house cleaning, and I am realllllly needing to go through all the closets and get stuff out for Goodwill. It is way overdue. We have also lost Jaden's clothes that Jackson should be growing into and Ireally dont want to have to buy some, so hopefully those will appear at some point. We have looked everywhere for those blasted clothes! How do you lose those?!

Friday, we are doing our annual Schnepf's Farm visit. Every year we go and get our pumpkins and enjoy a few hours there. Jaden gets more and more into it! I have been going since before I was pregnant with him! Friday is also my dad's birthday!

Time to let the week begin! I will leave you with a few pictures of Minnie Sue...my mom's brand new 2 lb teacup schnauzer :) She is the sweetest little thing ever!

I cut off my hair!

I have been talking about it for awhile now, and on a whim today, I took the plunge!

I was anxious to see how the boys reacted. Jackson loves to hug my neck with hands and he got a kick out of doing that without hair there He kept smiling at me really goofy. Jaden was afraid of me, and got really shy and wouldn't come close. I would have expected the opposite reactions!

I am anxious to style it myself and see all the fun new ways to it. It was time for a change. It is so much lighter and cooler now! This is how I used to keep my hair a few years ago, so it seems familiar.
