Table Transformation

Its been a long process of many days and nights and much sweat and blood (and burns!) but we finally got the table top put together! Glass cuts and glue guns burn! And grout dries out your skin horribly! But it was fun to shop at thrift stores for the plates! It has made me decide I want to start collecting different plates for my own. Plates= fun

This is the table set kind of that we started with. It is a great hand me down from my parents that has held up well. The 6 chairs and the whole table is natural wood. Our cabinets are a bit darker, so it just didn't match wood. That bugged me. This is not our set...just givin' ya a visual.

So, my darling patient and dearest husband said "Lets refinish it. It will be really inexpensive and we can match it to the kitchen"

Sounds good to me! Well, of course as ideas go, it grew into something a lot bigger than we anticipated. More labor intensive, I guess.

We still have to do the chairs, and the stools will be leaving soon, AND we have to wait 21 days so that I can epoxy the mosaic to seal it to protect the grout, but here it is so far!

We modelled it after Galations 5:22-23 The Fruits of the Spirit. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Top View:
Love (heart)

Joy (sun)

Peace (dove)

Patience (a blooming flower)

Kindess (the shirt off your back)

Goodness (the cross)

Faithfullness (the promise of a rainbow)

Gentleness (a lamb...ok the head and legs blend in. we are working on that)

Self Control (an apple tree)

We have a clear table cloth on it for this month because it can not get wet and it can not have cleaning solution on it. Once the 21 days are up, we will be able to seal it and remove the table cloth. I am SUPER excited!! (now we need to get the chairs done before the tea i am hosting on Sunday!!) Pin It

you certainly took on a massive big labor intensive project. I bet it will be stunning when the epoxy goes on. I am sure you will enjoy it for many years
